May 2010Latest News: The impossible happened: Sasendle brought SAFARI PRICES DOWN for all 2010 departures - major flaws discovered in quoting software! Prices 2011 will come down too … read Nico’s message: Dear Friends in Tourism, We hope this finds you well and your business too. Due to serious faults found in the software that Sasendle used for quoting tours, until April 2010, various aspects of all our safari offers were wrongly calculated. Per person prices for departures with 2 guests only proved to be slightly under-quoted, so we will keep them unchanged for the remaining departures until October 2010. The re-calculated prices for 3 and 4 guests per vehicle are now much lower – making a huge difference for most tours. We also discovered that earlier calculations for pax numbers requiring 2 and more 4x4 vehicles went completely hay-way. We therefore would like to inform you that a. the greatly reduced prices will apply with immediate effect, in order to pass on the benefits to our trade partners and guests, and b. all prices as of now are based on 2/3/4 pax per vehicle, i.e. the max. passenger number per 4x4 will be 4 for all tours & departures. (Some of our tours previously had a max. of 3 per vehicle.) Your commission on tour prices & single room supplements will stay as agreed. Sasendle on tour - See our On-line Gallery for more images Sasendle Safaris 2011 As indicated in the headlines of this May 2010 newsletter, we now know that 2011 tour prices were wrongly calculated too by the faulty software. We decided to not only manually re-quote all tour prices but to also improve on service inclusions while reducing the number of meals on some safaris – as suggested by most of our safari guests. We therefore hereby withdraw all detailed itineraries & prices already in circulation for the 2011 season that will start in November 2010. Instead please note: •Routings of all our Cape to Namibia & CPT/CPT tours will stay unchanged but service inclusions will change from Nov. 2010. •Departure dates of 2011 SCHEDULED tours will remain as published. •Tour prices will also all change for the coming season but in spite of the improvements we are planning we are confident that prices will come down, at least from 3 guests per 4x4 onwards. SCHEDULED departures – dates stay unchanged but prices for the following are revised: New Safari: WILD SOUTH-WEST AFRICA Both tours above combined into a 23-day roundtrip from/to Cape Town incl. 2 nights in Windhoek – 2010 departure dates of Cape to Namibia Explorer apply. New Safari: RICHTERSVELD & NAMIB DESERT BONANZA 13 days, similar to Namibia-Cape Explorer but good budget accommodation & BB only included! New Safari: SOUTHERN NAMIBIA & KGALAGADI 12 days, concentrating on Richtersveld, Namib Desert & Kalahari flora and fauna, good accom/FB included!
